Steller's Sea Cow
This poor thing also went the same way as the Dodo. Hydrodamalis gigas was hunted to extinction within just 27 years of it's discovery by westerners.
Slow moving and unable to submerge, it was easy prey for the hunters.It's fat was used as a substitute for butter and also as a smokeless and odourless oil for lamps.
