Giant Armadillo
Many artworks take quite a bit of adjustment before clients are happy with the end results, this can be for numerous reasons, including (but not limited to) layout restrictions and requirements, content and composition, as well as scientific accuracy. Often artwork has to be approved by not only the commissioning designer, but also editors and scientists. This often results in a bit of email ping-pong and numerous versions of any given image. After about 4 attempts to get this Glyptodon right, I sent this image through for comment:
It had the desired effect... approved...job done! :-) The final artwork looked like this:

Hahaha, I hope your clients appreciated the sense of humour.
Initially trained and working as a Fine Artist, I made the shift to traditional illustration and studio management during the early and mid 1990's respectively. In 1998 I made the transition to digital 2&3D work, and have been attracting commissions ever since.
